Ameran/a – The Ameran Architecture
Ameran/a is the software technology and architecture, underlying to
all the Ameran products. As a common software foundation, Ameran/a is shared between the products, and enhances
cross-product integration, reliability and manageability, security, and
more.
The following diagram depicts the primary components of the Ameran/a
architecture, and their relationship with the Ameran products:

Ameran/a delivers the following system processing efficiencies and system
integrity features required for an Enterprise Solution:
Integration
The
Ameran/a software architecture enables seamless
integration within the full range of Ameran's products, including
LiteProjector for
remote access and control, and
VDR
for recording and playback.
Reliability and
Manageability
Ameran/a is a software architecture, designed to meet the most
demanding needs of large IT organizations and OEMs. Ameran/a provides a shared software foundation of technologies
that are used in the access, control, recording, and playback of dynamic
video and terminal-based computer displays. The use of a shared foundation
ensures the utmost reliability and manageability of all Ameran /a-based
products.
Security
In
addition to its support of rich functional capabilities, Ameran/a governs the security of the Ameran products, and
addresses issues such as authentication, encryption, and integration with
external security tools.
Ameran/a
does not
install any device driver and/or modifies the underlying Windows OS or running
applications in any way. This allows for portability across operating systems;
to reduce processing
overhead
to a minimum; and to install without compromising the integrity and stability
of the underlying
operating systems
CPU Utilization
The Ameran
(client) module running in the background of each participating desktop, in
addition to other functions, performs screen capture, data compression,
writing compressed screen activity files to the hard disk and/or
transmission these compressed files over the network. It is a benchmarked
fact that all of this objectively heavy processing activity consumes no
more than 10% of each participating desktop's CPU utilization (Benchmark of Pentium II processor
with normal GUI operation). Ameran/a thus enables ongoing recording and
monitoring of Enterprise Desktop activity, while employees do their job,
without any noticeable adverse affect on application system
performance.
Powerful Compression
Ameran/a uses a proprietary compression algorithm that dramatically reduces the
size of the recorded data. As a result, the recording and data transmission
are faster and require fewer resources than other solutions.
Enterprise-Wide Operating System
Support
Support
for multiple platform operating systems is an essential prerequisite for an
Enterprise-wide solution. Today's Enterprise computer systems are often
diverse configurations of multiple platforms, connected through a network,
each platform may be running under a different operating system.
The
Ameran modules support most popular operating systems on the market, thus
enabling the transparent viewing, monitoring and recording of any Desktop,
or any other computing device, on any platform throughout the
Enterprise.
Ensures System Integrity and
Stability
Ameran
is Non-Intrusive and does not change, modify, or replace Operating System
code or system software in any way. This is important because such
intrusive changes often have unexpected adverse affects on Operating System
integrity and stability, and always results in vendor software Operating
system release dependence (i.e. version compatibility problems).
